BNSS 2023: Chapter XXVIII: Section 387

When any Court has under section 384 adjudged an offender to punishment, or has under section 385 forwarded him to a Magistrate for trial, for refusing or omitting to do anything which he was lawfully required to do or for any intentional insult or interruption, the Court may, in its discretion, discharge the offender or remit the punishment on his submission to the order or requisition of such Court, or on apology being made to its satisfaction.

जब किसी न्यायालय ने धारा 384 के तहत किसी अपराधी को सजा सुनाई हो, या धारा 385 के तहत उसे किसी ऐसे काम को करने से इनकार करने या चूक करने के लिए, जिसे करने के लिए वह कानूनी रूप से अपेक्षित था या किसी जानबूझकर अपमान के लिए मजिस्ट्रेट के पास भेज दिया हो या व्यवधान, न्यायालय अपने विवेक से, अपराधी को दोषमुक्त कर सकता है या ऐसे न्यायालय के आदेश या मांग को मानने पर, या उसकी संतुष्टि के अनुसार माफी मांगने पर सजा माफ कर सकता है।
